We were laying low last week because some shizzle has been going on. One of our buddies mom passed away, another friend had surgery for breast cancer, our uncle went back to jail (it's only for a month and then house arrest), and found out another friend is HIV positive.... Shit's getting real!!! Needed time to process all the info. So, as we wrote last week, we had an epic Saturday 2 weekends ago. My buddies mom used to be one of my bar buddies for a while. She talked me out of many psychotic nights when I drank liquor. We only planned on stopping in and paying our respects and leaving. Funerals make me uncomfortable if I am not drunk...and I didn't happen to be drunk that day. As we were leaving we saw a bunch of people that we knew. We ended up seeing a bunch of people from high school that we haven't seen in a while. Some we liked, others not so much. We kept trying to leave, but we kept getting more and more fascinated at the gems that walked in. Some had teeth, some wore flannel, others wore sweatpants, while others just seemed high. It was a sight to see. We ended up staying for an hour just to people watch at a funeral. Does that make us horribe people that we paid respects for about 10 minutes and people watched longer?

There is nothing wrong with people watching ever.
No, you're not horrible. Sometimes it helps to have something to make light of in a traumatic situation too.
Sweatpants, flannel & no teeth at a funeral. How COULD you look away?!
How could you NOT gawk at a spectacle like that? You're only human!
People watching is a God given gift that nobody and nothing (not even funerals) can take away from you. So sorry that you are going through such a hard time.
